We both come from engineering backgrounds and settings where understanding mechanistic relationships from hours of scientific research is critical.  Early in our professional working careers, we both endured long tiring days where we’d be starving and exhausted by the end of each work day.

Energy-drained and hungry, nights of eating late resulted in a recurring cycle and inevitable future down an unwanted path.  It didn’t make sense to have to feel like a zombie every day and meanwhile watch our athletic bodies from younger sports days turn to sloppy flab.  There had to be a better way.

In researching how to optimize energy, we had no idea we’d stumble onto the most effective way to shred fat and completely transform the way the body uses energy...

BRION’S APPROACH

Brion is a busy guy, working two jobs in property management, and meanwhile taking a shot at the acting and modeling world.  In order to model clothing, Brion had a specific target weight and body fat percentage in mind.  He worked out consistently, running miles on a regular basis, but the fat just wouldn’t come off.  All Brion needed was the formula, and he was well on his way.

Let us explain...

PROBLEM #1: THE FOODS YOU’RE EATING

The main source of energy for most people comes in the form OF simple carbohydrates.  You know, your bread, pasta, cereal, etc.  Now, what most people don’t realize is that these foods are almost immediately converted to sugar in the body.  

 

This may or may not be intuitive to you.  But you are probably familiar with the term, blood sugar.  You know what it’s like to see children bouncing off the walls because they’ve had a spike in sugar.  And you’re probably familiar with what it feels like to have low blood sugar.... You feel drained, cranky perhaps, and you could care less about anything except for where your next meal is coming from.  We’ll refer to this as the “glucose roller coaster.”

Besides the familiar dips in energy, these simple carbohydrates (i.e., sugars) are preferentially stored as future energy in the form of body fat.  So not only are you storing unwanted body fat, but there's a desensitizing effect that's created with the peaks in the roller coaster, causing you to want even more of them as time goes on!   

 

 

PROBLEM #2: YOUR MODE OF EXERCISE

Alright, so it’s simple right?  Just jog long enough so you’ve burned more calories that day than you ate right?  Hmmm… well we all know this doesn’t actually seem to work for anybody, right?  But why not?
